• The condition under which your application for use of the camp is accepted is that the following rules and procedures are observed:
  • Each group is to be instructed in their responsibilities in respect to preserving good relationships on Kawau Island.
  • No private property is to be entered without permission of the owner.

  • No firearms, airpistols or rifles are to be used on the island.
  • No fireworks of any sort may be ignited on the island.
  • No live trees are to be felled.
  • Only dead trees or foliage may be used for bivouacs. Any such structures are to be dismantled and dispersed.
  • No dogs to be brought to camp.
  • Please report immediately and damage of equipment or camp property to camp manager.


  • Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times.
  • Children must be under adult supervision.
  • Boats must be lifted, not dragged, into and from the water.
  • Do not leave sails up if the boat is unattended and if conditions could cause damage.
  • Yachts to be derigged & stored each evening.
  • Groups bringing runabouts must comply with the New Zealand Marine Regulations.
